in Maintaining the Spirit of Edmund Rice
Personnel
Denis O'Brien, an experienced Catholic School Principal and Organisational Development
Consultant, is the Executive Officer.
Denis advises and supports the schools of the Province, particularly in relation to governance, strategic planning, mission development,
appointment and evaluation of school leaders and school effectiveness.
Br John Henry Thornber cfc, is the Governance Development Coordinator for the Province, and served as Principal for 16 years, with wide experience in educational change.
John Henry also plays a key role in Risk Assessment and Financial Advice to schools as well as research for special projects for the
Province Leadership.
Julieanne Manson is the Indigenous Education Officer for the Province.
Julieanne works closely with schools in the Province
to support them in promoting contact with Indigenous
people, curriculum issues and material relating to
Reconciliation.
Margaret
Miller is Administration Assistant and provides a range of
secretarial, administrative and communication
services for the School Ministries Office.
Br Michael Dredge
provides a support role for staff
development, particularly with Religious Education
Coordinators and Year and Subject Coordinators. He
has school experience as Head of Department and
Deputy Headmaster in Queensland and Sydney schools;
he has taught English at Sichuan University, Chengdu,
China; and he was involved with Edmund Rice
Beatification (1996) and Edmund Rice Education
Bicentenary (2002) national committees.
Br
Michael Walsh on behalf of the
School Ministries Office works with working with
Principals and their Executives in a support role
identifying issues significant to them, in-service
opportunities and aspects of succession planning. Br Walsh resides at
The Retreat and Conference Centre,
'Winbourne', 1315 Mulgoa Road, Mulgoa, 2745.
Jacqui Corcoran is the St Mary's
Province OHS & Injury Management Co-ordinator.

The Role of the School Ministries Office
- Promoting the Edmund Rice vision in the schools of the Province.
- Providing human resource services for congregational schools and associated ministries.
- Supporting Principals and school executive in their leadership, management and administration.
- Promoting the interests of Christian Brothers Schools with Church, Diocesan and Government bodies.
- Reviewing and monitoring Province policies related to schools.
- Supporting School Boards and Principals in their responsibility for
- Vision and Governance of the schools.
- Supporting and assisting each school in its implementation of
- the Province Indigenous Education Initiative.
- Responding to enquiries about school-related issues from the wider community.
